Cyber Security Officer, OSCE - Austria

As Cyber Security Officer, Ben Hiller is the OSCE’s focal point for cyber/ICT security issues. In his role he provides policy advice to the Secretary General, all 57 participating States and the OSCE Chairmanship, and is responsible for assisting States with the implementation of Permanent Council Decision 1106 and 1202 on OSCE Confidence-Building Measures (CBMs) to Reduce the Risks of Conflict Stemming from the Use of Information And Communication Technologies; as well as developing additional CBMs. In addition, he is responsible for ensuring coherent OSCE-wide output in this field.

In his previous role at the OSCE Secretariat’s Action against Terrorism Unit, Ben was responsible for issues related to countering the use of the Internet for terrorist purposes as well as for the portfolio dealing with the security of electronic travel documents and pertinent ICT infrastructure.
Before joining the OSCE, Ben gathered experience at NATO headquarters in the Defense Investment Division. Ben holds a Masters in Conflict Resolution and Management with a focus on Defense Policy.
