Associated Professor, the National School of Political and Administrative Studies Bucharest; Founder of the Conflict Prevention and Early Warning Center Bucharest - Romania

Iulian Chifu is an associated professor at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies Bucharest. He is the founder of the Conflict Prevention and Early Warning Center Bucharest. Between 2011-2014 he was the Presidentian Councellor for Strategic Affairs and International Security of the Romanian President. He acted as Advisor for Foreign Policy, Security and Defense of the Vice-President of the Romanian Senate (2006-2011). He was Advisor of the President of the Iasi House of Health Ensurences (1998-2000), researcher and journalist (1991-1998), including correspondent of the BBC World Service, Romanian Service(1991-1995). He specializes in Conflict Analysis, Crisis Decision making and the post-Soviet Space. He is a member of the board of the Center for Energy and Resource Security – EUCERS at King’s College London, UK, a member in the International Advisory committee of the Journal CBRNE-Terrorism-Newsletter, Athens, Greece,
a member of the Coordination Council of the Romanian Transatlantic Committee Casa NATO. He is author and co-author of more than 30 books on conflicts, crisis, post-soviet space and energy security.

Mr. Chifu wrote numerous articles in reviews, journals and newspapers in Romania and abroad.
