Pierre is Deputy Head of Unit Trust & Security in the Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology of the European Commission, where he is in charge of cybersecurity industrial policy. He has been working for 10 years in the European Commission in various policy development and programme management assignments, in the area of cybersecurity and privacy, ICT for Societal Challenges, green ICT and network innovation. Prior to that, Pierre acquired over 10 years of ICT experience. In particular, he held various IT management positions for 7 years at Procter & Gamble, including Head of Global ICT Innovation. He started his career in Washington DC in a start-up company working on surgical simulation. Pierre Chastanet holds a M.S. in Telecommunication Engineering from Paris Graduate School of Telecommunication Engineering (Telecom ParisTech) and a M.A. in International Politics from the Free University of Brussels (ULB).
